New room, different challenge

New room, big mess.

I think I’ll do this post in primarily in pictures as there isn’t much to say.

It’s a small room and difficult to photograph.

I took a few pictures a while ago when I thought I was ready to start the project.

The entrance is blocked by clothing.  I just can’t break the habit of hanging things on the chin up bar that has been there for the last 15 years.

I use it for Jaxon’s plane swing during the winter months also.

Although he is still well under the weight limit, he’s tall and it’s time to take the swing down.  I should remove the chin up bar down also so that I’m less tempted to use it as a clothing rack.  I should just take it down…..I should just take…..I probably won’t.

Beyond the curtain of clothing was a big pile of clutter.

That was then (February/March 2012).  I’ve tried to start decluttering the room, over and over again, but I only succeed in stacking like things together.  Currently and not surprisingly, it looks the same with just a little more floor space.

The clutter is primarily papers, computers, kitchenware and books.

The plan is to tackle a group of items every other day.  If I do, I should see results quickly.  Time will tell.

  1. Definitely take the chin up bar done. Do it right now. Make that the very first thing you declutter. Take everything off that’s hanging, find places for it, and take down the bar and donate it. First thing DONE! You can DO IT!

    • Oops! I missed this before. I had neglected to mention that the chin up bar functions as my husbands closet. To remove it permanently, I had to declutter a space for his clothes. I am pleased to say that it is almost cleared and only a few things remain. That bar should be gone by Friday.

      • Yay!! Go you!! I am so proud of you 🙂

      • Thank you!
