The clothing conundrum

As I’ve stated before, I have a lot of clothing.  In fact, I can’t even imagine how many articles are in the house.  And yet, I still bring new items home every week.  And friends and family are always sending bags of clothing over for me that they feel will be “perfect” for work.

A few weeks ago, I decided that I was ready to start purging the collection.  My biggest obstacle is that I really dislike trying clothing on.  I want to believe that the item on the hanger will look fantastic on me.  It rarely does and I have oodles of fashion faux-pas. So whenever I have a few hours to myself, I pull out an old rustic mirror in the living room and check for stains, fit and whether or not the item even looks good on me.

Keeper.  I wore it on Thursday when it was 84 degrees.

Now the process would work better if I had a full length mirror.  Oh wait!  I do have at least one buried somewhere in the basement.  But for the time being, I will use my little mirror and focus on all the tops that I have to look at.
